Amendments to the Law on Enforcement and Security
The National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia adopted on July 26, 2019 Law on Amendments to the Law on Enforcement and Security, which was published in the Official Gazette of RS No. 54/2019. The provisions of the amended law entered into force on August 3, 2019, and will be applied from January 1, 2020. The most important novelties brought by the Law on Amendments to the Law on Enforcement and Security are that public enforcement officers have been granted new competencies related to both deciding on the proposal for enforcement and the implementation of enforcement. Furthermore, the jurisdiction between courts and public enforcement officers has been defined in a more precise way to reduce the possibility of different interpretations in practice.
