The law on prevention of domestic violence adopted
The National Assembly of Republic of Serbia adopted the Law on prevention of domestic violence in November 2016 and it has been published in Official Gazette of RS 94/2016. This law is in force from December 02, 2016, but shall be applied from June 1, 2017 and its primary purpose is the prevention of violence. This law introduces several novelties in the form of urgent measures - removal of the culprit from the family and a ban on approaching the victim, as well as liability for officials who do not act in accordance with the law.
